Risks or Contraindications

If any of the following apply to you, please contact me before booking to discuss if it will affect your specific treatment.

  • Treatments cannot be used on body parts that have body jewellery, metal implants, IUD implant (EMS) or piercings (where possible, remove jewellery or metallic objects before treatment).

  • Pregnant

  • Breastfeeding

  • HIV/AIDS

  • Cancer (all forms)

  • Undergoing chemotherapy or immune therapy

  • Immunodeficiency

  • Lupus

  • High blood pressure (uncontrolled)

  • Diabetes (uncontrolled)

  • Keloid scarring

  • Excessive pigmentation

  • Vein inflammation

  • Prednisone and other steroid medications (treatment will increase inflammation)

  • Chemical peels and laser resurfacing (applicable to RF)

  • Sunburn (applicable to RF)

  • Hernia mesh/surgical mesh in the area being treated with EMS

Partial Contraindications

If you have any of these, you may not be suitable for treatment. Please discuss prior to booking, and we will advise the best course of action.

  • Recent surgery (Recommended to wait & get consent from the surgeon)

  • Recent scars (area must be avoided)

  • Open lesions (area must be avoided)

  • Skin diseases (area must be avoided)

  • Infection (area must be avoided)

  • Antibiotics (wait until the course is completed/medications can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment)

  • Inflammation (area must be avoided)

  • Varicose veins (area must be avoided)

  • Prosthesis/silicone implants (area must be avoided)

  • Metal implants/screws (area must be avoided)

  • Contraceptive implant (area must be avoided)

  • Depilatory creams (wait 2 weeks)

  • Areas being treated with IPL or Laser (wait 2 weeks if having RF)

  • Areas being treated with Botox® or dermal fillers (wait 2 weeks if having RF)

  • Suntan (sun must be avoided the entire duration of the treatment regime if having RF)

  • Chronic inflammation (depending on the severity of chronic inflammatory conditions - consider that treatment will increase inflammation and anti-inflammatory medications reduce the effectiveness of the treatment - please discuss with your doctor first if unsure)

Medical History

If you currently have any of these conditions, or have medical history involving any of the following, please consider if there are any potential risks before booking; if unsure consult your physician.

  • Any chronic medical conditions

  • Any known allergies

  • Any known kidney or liver disorders

  • Any photosensitivity to sun exposure

  • Any thyroid problems

  • Any cardiovascular conditions

  • If you are currently taking any medications, please consider that they can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment (most medications will be okay, however not recommended for medications such as Roaccutane).

  • If completing EMS for abdominal separation, please consult your doctor first to ensure you're a right candidate for this treatment.
